What is ParkBean?
ParkBean (泊邊豆) is a free website that helps you find car parks and on-street meters in Hong Kong. Search an address on the map, compare indicative hourly rates, and open directions in Google Maps, Waze, or Amap.
Is ParkBean free?
Yes. Searching, viewing car park details, and reporting corrections are completely free. We do not sell subscriptions or in-app upgrades. Optional Buy Me a Coffee donations help cover hosting and data maintenance.
Where does the parking data come from?
We combine Transport Department open data, Housing Authority estate tariffs, Link REIT and other operator feeds where available, and community reports submitted through the site. Data is refreshed on a regular pipeline; individual sites may lag real-world changes.
How accurate are the prices?
Rates are indicative only. Operators change tariffs, promotions, and validation rules without notice. Always confirm on site before you park. If you spot an error, use Report incorrect price on the car park page—verified reports improve the dataset.
What is the difference between a car park and a street meter?
Car parks are off-street facilities (estates, malls, offices). Street meters are on-street pay-and-display poles managed by the Transport Department, usually charged per 15 minutes. On ParkBean, enable Show street meters in filters to see them on the map.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to search or view details. If you report a pricing issue you may optionally leave a display name for the contributor leaderboard.
Which languages are supported?
The interface is available in English, Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), and Simplified Chinese. Car park names may remain in their original form where operators publish them that way.
Why is a car park missing or in the wrong place?
New estates open, old lots close, and coordinates in open data can be imprecise. We merge duplicate government records where possible. Report missing or misplaced sites via the report form with as much detail as you can.
Can businesses or apps use ParkBean data?
ParkBean is for personal use. Automated scraping, bulk export, or republishing our compiled dataset for commercial purposes is not permitted under our Terms & Conditions. For business enquiries contact contact@obsidianarch.com.
